  • American Cancer Society: $1500
    They will use the funds to provide gas vouchers and transportation needs of the underserved for transportation needs to and from cancer treatments. They served over 90 patients with last year’s funds from us. They will also supply wigs, prostheses, scarves, etc. to the underserved, last year they helped 85 patients with these items utilizing our funds.

  • Cancer Patient Care: $6500
    This year concludes our $20,000 pledge to their Guardians of Hope Campaign. The additional $1500 will be used for a special project, the Pink Shamrock Swim Form Project. This will allow up to 15 women to participate in an ongoing wellness program in conjunction with the YWCA.

  • Community Cancer Services – Sandpoint, ID: $2,100
    Community Cancer services will use the money to help fund their ongoing education, information, and support services to the more than 50,000 residents of Bonner and Boundary Counties in North Idaho. They assisted over 250 clients with their Enriched Recovery Program last year.

  • Hospice of Spokane: $1000
    Hospice uses the funds to help clients suffering from terminal breast cancer. This money will help pay for 6 or 7 days of Hospice care.

  • Kootenai Health Foundation: $2,000
    They will use the funds we provided for emergency support for patients at the Kootenai Cancer Center during treatment. It helps pay for non-covered items such as transportation, gas, and other essential items.

  • Native Project: $1,500
    Native Health of Spokane is an urban Indian Health clinic meeting the primary health needs of the underserved and uninsured in Spokane and Spokane County. The funds will be used to help Indian women fighting breast cancer with primary needs such as wigs, transportation to the clinic, skincare and self-care products, and prepared meals for them and their families.

  • Providence Regional Cancer Center: $1500
    The 2010 funds will be used to support uninsured and underinsured women with many needed items such as wigs, transportation, urgent support medicine, and counseling. They are receiving over 250 newly diagnosed breast patients each year.

  • Providence VNA Home Health: $2,000
    The money will be used to help provide home health services to women with breast cancer who are unable to pay.

  • St. Joseph Family Center: $1,500
    They provide Breast Cancer Survivor Retreats to women battling breast cancer. The retreats provide group support, massage, reflexology, meals, and a weekend of relaxation.

    2009: $13,000

    We provided funding for several nurses to visit the homes of women who needed home assistance and do not have the means or health insurance to pay for it.

  • Hospice of Spokane: $1,000
    We provided 14 days of care for terminally ill women with breast cancer who did not have insurance.

  • American Cancer Society: $1,000
    We provided funding for a new cancer resource center to be located at 2 different hospitals to help educate women with limited resources of all the services that are available in our communities.

    We provided check-ups for six medically underserved women with breast cancer.

  • Positive Image Center at Sacred Heart: $1,000. We supplied wigs, hats, and self-esteem products for several women using the Positive Image Center.

    We assisted in the treatment of Native Americans struggling with breast cancer.

    We provided seven days of care for terminally ill women with breast cancer who did not have insurance.

  • Cancer Patient Care: $1,000
    We provided wigs, prescription care, food supplements, emergency financial assistance, prostheses, and transportation to medical appointments.

  • Spokane Regional Health District: $1,000
    We funded transportation for medically underserved people for treatment.

  • Providence Cancer Center: $1,000

  • We provided assistance to patients with bus passes, motel stays during treatment and airfare for a client who could not afford to get to treatment without it.
